This is a copy of the deluxe slipcase edition published by Harper Collins in 2013 and is brand new/never read. Note the stamp on the side of the slipcase/book of a Númenórean helmet drawn by J. R. R. Tolkien. To my knowledge, this first appeared on the original hardback edition of this book published in 1980.
